Private Swim Lessons

One-on-one instruction, right in your own pool.

Every child comes to the water with a different level of confidence, experience, and ability. That’s why I believe swim lessons should be individualized for your child.

I offer private, one-on-one swim lessons in your home or neighborhood pool, with each lesson specifically tailored to your child—whether they're getting comfortable putting their face in the water, learning to swim independently, or ready to take their technique to the next level.

Learning how to swim can be a scary, which is why I focus my lessons on positivity and fun.

Lessons Built Around Your Child

Some kids jump straight in. Others need time to trust the water. Some are almost swimming independently but need help putting all the pieces together. And some are already strong swimmers who are ready for more.

Wherever your child is starting, that's where we'll start too.

With one-on-one instruction, I can see exactly what your child needs and adjust in real time. We'll build skills intentionally, celebrate progress along the way, and help your child become more confident and capable in the water.

Beginner Swimmers

For children who are still learning to feel comfortable and independent in the water.

Depending on your child, we may work on water comfort, breath control, putting their face underwater, floating, kicking, body position, returning to the surface, and beginning independent swimming.

Developing Swimmers

For children who can already swim independently but are ready to become stronger, more efficient swimmers.

Lessons can focus on breathing, body position, stroke technique, endurance, diving, turns, or whatever skills will help your child reach their next level.

Why Private Lessons?

More attention. More flexibility. More meaningful progress.

In a group lesson, an instructor has to teach to the group. In a private lesson, I get to teach your child.

That means we can spend more time on the skills they need, move quickly through the ones they've already mastered, and adjust the lesson based on how they're responding that day.

And because lessons happen in your own pool, your child gets to learn in the environment where they'll actually spend their time swimming.

There's another benefit I really love: you get to learn, too.

I'll help you understand what we're working on, what I'm seeing, and simple things you can practice together between lessons. My goal is for progress to continue long after I leave your backyard.

What to Expect

1. Tell me about your swimmer.
Start with a short inquiry so I can learn your child's age, current swimming ability, your goals, and where you're located.

2. We'll talk.
I'll personally reach out to learn a little more about your child, answer your questions, and talk through scheduling and whether private lessons are the right fit.

3. I come to you.
Lessons take place in your home or neighborhood pool. I'll assess where your child is starting and tailor our time together accordingly.

4. We get swimming.
From there, we'll build skills, confidence, and independence. One step at a time.

A Different Kind of Swim Instructor

I bring more than 20 years in the sport to every lesson—from representing Team USA and competing as an Olympic Trials finalist to becoming a 13-time NCAA All-American at the University of Virginia.

But being an accomplished swimmer isn't the same thing as being a great swim teacher.

I've also spent years teaching children how to swim, learning how to break complicated skills into simple ones, build trust with hesitant swimmers, and adapt the way I teach to the child in front of me.

And now I'm a mom, too. I know you're not simply looking for someone who understands swimming. You're trusting someone with your child. I don't take that lightly.
